1. Eligibility & accounts

To register as a student you need a valid Hielite Academy invite code; employers may register without one. You must be at least 16 years old, provide accurate information, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

2. The service

TrustLance is a platform that lets verified students showcase portfolios and certificates, and connects them with employers and clients through a job board and freelance marketplace. We provide the tools that enable these connections; we are not a party to any agreement, contract, or transaction between users.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, infringing, unlawful, or harmful content.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your skills, identity, or verification status.
• Harass, abuse, or spam other users.
• Attempt to bypass security, scrape data at scale, or disrupt the service.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create (projects, documentation, proposals, messages, and so on). You grant TrustLance a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service — for example showing your published projects and public profile to other users. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to anything you upload.

5. Marketplace, jobs & freelance work

Job posts, gigs, proposals, contracts, and deliverables are created and agreed between users. You are solely responsible for evaluating opportunities and counterparties, and for fulfilling any agreement you enter into. TrustLance does not guarantee employment, payment, quality of work, or the conduct of any user.

6. Reviews, verification & certificates

Reviews must be honest and based on genuine interactions. Academy verification, Trust Scores, tiers, and certificates are provided to signal credibility; we may issue, withhold, adjust, or revoke them, and we may remove content or verification that breaches these Terms.

7. Fees

Core features are currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans, premium features, or marketplace commissions in the future; any such fees will be disclosed before they apply to you.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to the platform or other users. You may stop using TrustLance and request account deletion at any time.

9. Disclaimers

TrustLance is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrustLance and Hielite will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any loss of profits, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the service or any dealings between users.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless local law requires otherwise.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and continued use of TrustLance after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
